WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam at Taking On a World of Words. Three questions, three answers. Let's go!
What did you recently finish reading?
Considering that my last WWW post was on April 6th . . . a few things, although not a ton. There has been a lot going on and trying to concentrate on reading has fallen by the wayside. It's much easier to zone out in front of a screen. Less thinking. Still, I've made some progress on a series I was working on. I finished Hollow City, Library of Souls, and A Map of Days by Ransom Riggs, books 2, 3, and 4 of the Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children series. Two more to go and I will be able to cross another series off my list. As you saw by my teaser yesterday, I also read and finished The Stardust Thief by Chelsea Abdullah. This book was absolutely delightful. I found out that my local public library posts new releases each week on their Facebook page. I don't always see the posts (something something stupid algorithms) but I saw the one for last week and thought this title sounded interesting. Put in a hold request and was able to get the book the day after it was released. Yay!
I've started using my library a bit more lately, mostly because I am trying to read more physical books and steer away from ebooks. I spend a lot of time staring at screens and it has been refreshing to actually read paper again. Ebooks are nice and extremely convenient (100s of books, all on my cell phone!) but there is nothing like cracking open a new hardcover novel. The feel, the smell, it's just a nice experience, and one that I hadn't had in a while.
What are you currently reading?
I've started reading one book at a time again, instead of being in the middle of three or four or five at a time. It's easier on my brain. So right now, I am currently reading Caraval by Stephanie Garber. It was gifted to me through a Bookish Secret Santa a few years ago and I hadn't gotten around to reading it yet. According to GoodReads, I am still technically reading Bone Magic by Yasmine Galenorn, but that one is mostly on hold right now. It's been so long since I've picked it up, I probably need to start over.
What do you think you'll read next?
I picked up the last two Miss Peregrine's books at the library today, The Conference of Birds and The Desolations of Devil's Acre by Ransom Riggs. I also picked up Legendary by Stephanie Garber, the second book in the Caraval series. They didn't have the third book, so I'll have to go back and get that one, but I have plenty to keep me busy for right now.
That's it for me this week! As I said yesterday, I am slowly trying to get back into reading and blogging. I can't promise that I'll be here as much as I've been in the past, but I am going to at least try to check in with WWW posts, and probably Teasers or Top Ten Tuesdays as well.
