Capturing Manet, Getty Center - Los Angeles, California
Many were there with a smartphone in hand, capturing Manet. Some even had dedicated cameras -- even DSLRs. I did a quick pass-through to see what all the fuss was about. Certainly, lovely paintings, though not my cup of tea.
Instead, I enjoyed making images of people capturing the artwork.
I didn't take any pictures of the paintings. Not interested. I did, however, make pictures of black and white photographs at another exhibit. More on that in an upcoming post.
As you can tell, I'm no expert or appreciator of classic, famous art. I wonder how many go to these exhibits for genuine art appreciation? Or are they there because it's famous?
