War on terror:
- Undefined / shifting goals.
- Massive expansion of government power.
- Loss of government credibility.
War on Covid: Well, hopefully it won't take 20 years to wrap up.
The main role of the American government is now to cause chaos. It created chaos in the Middle East for a few decades, and has been using the same tactics at home. The lack of transparency surrounding the election, the chaos at the border, city governments giving tacit approval to mob violence, inflation, gas prices, Covid hysteria, etc.
There is a revolutionary streak in American government, that sees chaos as somehow unleashing a natural state: in the Middle East it was to let those poor people revert to a Lockean natural state of a liberal political order. At home it is to revert to a mythical state of natural "equity".
