No deer, no turkeys, a few birds but not very visible ... so I photograph flowers and bugs.

These are very common on the prairie now. They are Eryngium yuccifolium, commonly called rattlesnake-master or button snake-root. It is a native plant which occurs in rocky woods, prairies and glades throughout the State and was a common plant of the tallgrass prairie.

From only the flower it's identified as: common dandelion, field sowthistle, bristly hawkbit, common sowthistle, or a spiny sowthistle. It's most likely one of the sowthistles. It is on along the trail between the Nature Center and lake.

This is Katydid is the biggest bug of the last couple of days.
Strange 4. This tiny bug was frantically going in circles on a leaf. Looks very similar to a blue bug I saw a few days ago.
