Do you realise how important it is to keep your body hydrated? Do you drink enough water? Do you make it a habit?
Probably you have heard this advice to drink minimum 2 liters a day to keep your body hydrated. About 60% of our body is water. No wonder water is essential for our bodies. Probably you heard this advice many times.
I heard this advice many many times, yet I did not really do it. To drink water is not so enjoyble. It is more enjoyable when it has a taste in it. I think my water intake was less than what my body needed. I have tried several times in this and I failed. I could not make it as a habit.
Only in the last few months, I have been developing a new habit to drink enough mineral water and it has been continuing up until today. I have a big clear jar filled with water and sliced lemon on my desk. I use a mug to drink. I drink a mug of water with lemon to give a taste once at a time. Before lunch, I finish at least a half of the jar. And I finish the rest before 5 pm.
I made it!!!
I make the routine of my drinking water in a fun way. Everytime I finish the whole jar, I lift the empty jar and call my colleague who is sitting accross my desk and she will give me applause followed by all the other colleagues with their big smile for me. I feel like a winner holding the empty jar high in front of them. I say : I made it!
To have a cup of starbucks hot chocolate every Thursday is a self-reward for me. I reward myself only after finishing a half jar of water.
