Long-billed Dowitcher in summer plumage at Cley yesterday - iPhone photo
The top bird at Cley yesterday was the returning Long-billed Dowitcher - only this time sporting summer plumage. Other waders included: Ruff, Ringed & Little Ringed Plover, Black Wits, with a couple of Little Gull and a juvenile Water Rail on Snipe's Marsh. Although the species were limited on this mornings sea-watch, there was an incredible westerly movement of Mediterranean Gull. We counted 169 in just two hours with a further 25+ whilst doing a spot of gull-watching later in the morning.
