One of my favorite local spots is Steege Hill Nature Preserve from the Finger Lakes Land Trust. There are several trails to explore while at Steege Hill. The trail I like the most is the yellow trail. And this photo illustrates my favorite part of that particular trail. On this section of trail there is a persistent layer of moss. It is a beautiful lush green. It also creates a nice soft cushion underfoot when running or hiking. Jus the kind of feeling you need as you start to climb back up the hill.
