I've been on Twitter pretty much since the beginning, and it's been mostly great. My bird profile says;
"Been exploring technology one way or another since the Johnson administration. Mostly I follow scientists, artists, urban planners, designers. He/him"
The greatest thing about Twitter has been that this was all in one place. But now the platform is... well let's just say running a fever after ingesting a toxic load, and staying there feels kinda pointless.
Mastodon seems like the obvious choice, but it is NOT all in one place. I created an account on Mastodon.art, which is definitely a cool place but I already have an account on Tumblr where I intend to post my comic strip launching in January. But any topical server seems like the wrong place because of topical specificity.
I understand it's possible to follow people on topical servers, so I submitted an application on Mastodon.world. If they approve it, I'll redirect the existing accounts I have and explore the extinct pachyderm from there. In any case I will update the links here on my website.
