Water Authorities have come under serious criticism in recent months for sewage releases into our rivers and seas.

The Rivers Trust has a great web site that allows users to check on sewage discharge and water quality in local rivers.

There is a stack of shocking information on here, which can be viewed on a map of national scale or zoomed in to just your own local area.



So, my local sewer overflow spilled 74 times in 2021 - for a total of 759 hours. This discharged into the river Mole that flows through my town.
Is this acceptable?
