May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble;
May the name of the God of Jacob defend you (or set you on high);
Psalm 20:1
In Matthew 24:21, the end times will be a day of trouble, and we are living in the end times. These are the troubles we are facing today: famine, money, floods, fire, earthquakes, wars, relationships, work, inflation rate, oil crisis, etc.
Can we solve all of these?
We Christians pray over it and sleep soundly at night because we trust in the Lord. We know when we call out to God, He will answer us:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
We are in the battlefield, and God is the only One who can set us high above the ground. Fortresses are built high upon the ground so soldiers can see enemy approaching. It's also called, "vantage point."
I remember the time when I was high up in the balcony somewhere in the mountain, where I preach the Gospel of Christ. Every morning I rise up and see the sunrise. When you look down, you could see all the people walking, trees, and cars passing through beside our building. I could also see the big lake where the volcano rest, spewing out steam waiting. I can all see them, but they can't look at me.
It is mentioned in this verse as "God of Jacob" not "God of Israel" because Jacob means "struggle." And, we are struggling with our relationships, with other people. We are struggling on how to be victorious in our battles, for we experience sufferings and persecution. However, He is the God of Jacob who won in a struggle against his brother.
God can see enemies, friends, inside houses, streets, hideouts, secret places, and even the future! It seems that our enemies are in a disadvantage because God can see everything even the hearts of men.
Remember, God will fight for you because He is Almighty and loves His children.
"…for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you."
Deuteronomy 20:4
Readers, if you are experiencing struggles in life and haven't taken the step to open up your hearts and receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, now is the time. God loves us dearly that He gave His only begotten Son by dying on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, and rose again from death on the third day. If you believe Jesus Christ is the only Son of God who became a human being in order to save us, then welcome!
The next step is to ask for forgiveness from those you hurt. If you are ashamed doing this, the Lord whom you received will help you. Just ask Him!
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask in the "Contact" section.
