I am really into wildflowers right now and am happy with my latest one. I think I am going to paint two more from that patch, same size. Love to work with subject matter that is loaded with color and intricate textural surfaces.
Sometimes it gets difficult to get as much color modulation as I want because of the number of flowers. If a painting gets laborious, it starts to lose the spontaneity and joy that I insist on in my work.
I have one that required too much attention to each flower and it did lose some expression so I don't let them happen anymore. Got to move the painting along!
I decided to do something completely different for my Youtube demo this week. Whenever I use that phrase I can't help but think of Monty Python's Flying Circus. Those great comedians liked to introduce segments that way. Anyway, I forced myself to just use one color and tints of that color. Check it out below!

I am finding some recipes online that are good and not a thousand calories a bite! Love it! I have always said I would be a good cook if I could find recipes that don't load on the pounds. Glad to know there are some!
