This week's podcast is a long one, but my ad was accepted this time. I think my podcasts need to be longer than 20 minutes in order to accommodate the ads. So here's to longer episodes going forward.
I also had to break my podcast into segments for the first time, which was not on purpose. So the podcast is divided into two nine minute segments and one four minute segment. In anticipation of Halloween this weekend, I've dubbed them "snack size."
For those not listening in, I express to my listeners that I've been feeling a little gloomy and uninspired lately. Then, one rainy night, I was watching TikTok when a girl came into my feed and asked if I'd considered the possibility that what I'd hoped to manifest hadn't already manifested.
Way to get deep on me, TikTok girl.
Then, I remembered that I had made a vision board in 2018 and had written a blog post about it.
I looked at my vision board, which had 17 items on it, and 11 of them had essentially come true. To say I was stunned would be an understatement. Because, see, all I had done with that vision board was write about it. It was a virtual vision board, which meant it was only available online, and I never looked at it again after writing the post and replying to comments.
The point I made in the podcast was this: if I could make a half-assed vision board and have 64% of it come true, what would happen if I made a vision board with intention and knowing what I know after a year of soul homework?
So, whether you want to or not, I'm helping everyone today in creating vision boards.
Because I believe it would be an incredible project to work on as a group. Then check in with each other in a month, two months, or six months, to see if the things you've desired in your life have begun to happen.
If 2018 life-in-shambles/low-vibration/ half-ass Kari can make 64% of her heathen non-spiritual wishes come true, then so can you.
In the worst case scenario, none of it comes true. So you spent a half -hour listening to a podcast and another half-hour jotting down your goals and typing them onto a computer.
The best case scenario? You're living your best life, Oprah.
We could be unstoppable.

I'm going to show you how to make an online vision board because it requires more explanation than one made using poster board, magazines, and glue.
Before we continue, I'd like you to pause and take a deep breath.
What is something you've been thinking about recently that you wish you had? Maybe you think it's out of reach or that it's silly to ask for. Perhaps you believe you aren't bold enough or that you are undeserving. Or maybe you just don't have enough time to commit to this.
That is what you will put on your vision board.
Even if it is the only option. Choose your images, quotes, memes, and everything else that can be devoted to that one thing. That is your goal. That's why you're doing this today.
Here we go.
Step 1- Sign up for a Canva account if you don't already have one, it only takes five minutes. Unsubscribe after signing up, if you don't want anything else delivered to your inbox. I swear, if I hear one more person complain about not wanting to sign up for something. They're not trying to sell you a car warranty; they're just trying to help you organize your thoughts.
Once you're on Canva, type "free collage template" into the search bar, and the above mood board collage should appear on the top left list of options. It's a simple collage option that's free.
Step 2- Now that you have the collage template in front of you, use it as a reference to determine how many items to include on your vision board. This provides parameters that a poster board would not.
Step 3- Now comes the fun part. What goals do you have? Where do you want your life to go? Are there any habits you want to break? Do you want to get a specific job within the next six months? Is there a book you'd like to have published? Is there a trip you'd like to take?
Be specific.
Side note- In the podcast, I recommended creating vision boards for each area of your life. As an example, you may make a board for your finances or a board for your the kitchen remodel you've been wanting. Make a vision board if you've been putting off getting necessary dental work because you can't afford it.
Step 4- Once you've added the things you really want to your board(s), make sure you keep them somewhere you'll see them on a daily basis. I made my personal board my phone wallpaper, my career board my laptop background, and I'm going to print out my finance board and pin it to the wall behind my laptop.
I'm not good at teaching others how to do things, so I looked up a couple of tutorials on how to navigate Canva since, aside from making a vision board, I think it's a fantastic space for website design, book cover mockups, creating your own holiday cards, and a lot more.
I mean, at the very least, scribble some ideas on post-it notes and stick them to the wall. But intentionally look at them every day and tell yourself that you're going to make them a reality.
I spontaneously came up with the design for my book's cover in the shower the other day, scrawled it on a post-it note, and taped it to the wall behind my laptop. Talk about vision.
Have you ever put together a vision board? Did it work for you?
