Bountiful Harvest

Psalm 4:6-8

There are some who ask,     

"Who will be good to us?"     

Let your kindness, Lord,     

shine brightly on us.

You brought me more happiness     

than a rich harvest     

of grain and grapes.

I can lie down     

and sleep soundly     

because you, Lord,     

will keep me safe.

Which is better? A rich harvest, or peace of mind? In this verse it seems that David is happy having peace of mind than a bountiful harvest. These days, having peace of mind is precious because of all the noise online and offline. Online is cruel at most, and seeing so many insults hurled at you makes you want to throw the phone away! But, God in His love gives you peace of mind even if there are insults, and cruelty in this world.

My Lord is my Defender. He defends me in every insult and abuse sent towards me that is why I love the Lord. The Lord shows kindness, and brings happiness even in small things I receive everyday. I thank the Lord everyday, and His promises keep me hopeful for things to come. This is not the end, for this is just the beginning of happiness.
