As I mentioned last week, I'm taking a break from my Wednesday quotations and tackling geography with an alphabetic slant instead. Last week I kicked off with countries beginning and ending with A. This week I've set myself a broader brief - countries ending with A, no matter what they start with.
I've gone with Transnistria. This breakaway state has been recognised by only three other states, themselves of limited recognition: Abkhazia, Artsakh, and South Ossetia. By most it is still recognised as a part of Moldova, and as that also ends with A I don't feel I'm cheating too much.
