I have now given you a choice between a blessing and a curse. When all these things have happened to you, and you are living among the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you, you will remember the choice I gave you. If you and your descendants will turn back to the Lord and with all your heart obey his commands that I am giving you today, then the Lord your God will have mercy on you. He will bring you back from the nations where he has scattered you, and he will make you prosperous again.
Deuteronomy 30:1-3
The Tale Of Two Choices
There are always two choices for us to make throughout the day: Obey God or give in to our sinful living. The first choice is hard because you will have to endure persecution, but later on reap blessings. The second choice is easy and pleasurable, but later on you will suffer greatly from punishment.
If you are the person who wants immediate returns, then you would choose doing evil. But, if you are the type of person who invests in the long term, then you would likely choose Life. For me, the choice is simple. I want God to bless me in the future and finish great, rather than a quick fix but later forever regret it. Unfortunately, most people want the immediate satisfaction that doing evil gives. It's something you will regret for eternity. We should choose Life, and live happily ever-after.
