Distribution: Native to Azores, Northwest Africa, Europe to South Siberia and Iran according to the distribution information provided by the Plants of the World Online portal.
Habitat: Open habitats- grassland, clearings and edges of oak forests.
Lifeform: Perennial; Hemicryptophyte according to the Raunkiær system.
Flowering period: Late spring to early summer (MAY, JUN).
