In this case two posts of the same subject.  The one this morning was taken on the outside of our back door.  As with the Bald-faced Hornet a while back, this was from the inside and an unusual look at the underside.

Bronzed Cutworm moth-Nephelodes minians

No doubt not quite as scary as the hornet. Sort of spooky looking though with the flash in the eyes making it look possessed.
