Knives are among the most useful tools ever invented by humans. With knives it's so much easier to cut just about anything we need to divide into smaller pieces. Do you want to cook your potatoes so they will cook faster? Cut them into smaller chunks with a knife.

Some knives are very sharp and used for special purposes. A utility knife can open packages, cut sheet-rock to fit an area, or wall paper for decorating a home. A scalpel, in the hands of a skilled surgeon, opens the body to the surgeon's view so she can then use the scalpel again to cut and remove damaged, diseased, or dead tissue which is harmful to the patient.

There is a generation whose teeth are like swords, and whose fangs are like knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men. Proverbs 30:14 (NKJV) That verse tells me that a mean spirit and angry words hurt and destroy just as badly as a sharp, misused knife. Be careful with your words that they do not cut like knives.
