Spider House No More - Austin, Texas
I was surprised to see that Spider House was permanently closed. Confirmed also by the designation in Apple Maps. This was a popular location for many of our Drink and Click events.
At night the kitsch and eclectic decorations exuded a "Keep Austin Weird" vibe. During the day, it just looks trashy. Especially now that it's closed. It looks like some crazy-rich person's mansion that fell into disrepair.
There's a lot of leftover junk. But peeking in the yard, the big stuff is all removed. The hastily put up red fence has closed a former entry. It's a shame, really. Though it doesn't look like much during the daytime. At night, with moody lights, the always-Halloween feel made for a special place.
