Today: Review of Aeonic Suites & Spa Mykonos (Greece)

Nestled in the western part of the island of Mykonos, in the cove of Korfos, Aeonic Suites & Spa is Mykonos' newest 5-star boutique hotel. With its finely crafted architecture, alluring interior design, and minimalist elegance, it's also one of the island's most stylish and timeless retreats. Each one of the 34 rooms enjoys its own outdoor space either with either a private pool or a Jacuzzi depending on the room category. Facilities include a large infinity pool overlooking Ornos Bay, an elegant rooftop spa, and one of Mykonos' best fine dining venues. Aeonic means lasting for an eon or for a lifetime, but what it means to the hotel is "that you can look forward to bliss without any hassle or fuss within the premises of a luxury boutique hotel."

Aeonic Suites & Spa features in my top 10 list of the best hotels in Mykonos.

Have you ever stayed at Aeonic Suites & Spa? If so, what was your experience? Leave a comment.

I made a YouTube video with my impressions of the hotel, which you can watch here:

PROS & THINGS I LIKE
  • Aeonic Suites & Spa is one of the best hotels in Mykonos, Greece's most famous holiday destination. Offering dream beaches, azure seawaters, spectacular landscapes, and picturesque whitewashed villages, Mykonos is known as an island that never sleeps, an endless adult playground, and one of the world's most sought after gay tourist destinations, The island has righteously gained a place among the best party destinations of Europe, attracting renowned DJs and fashionistas. Since Brigitte Bardot, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and Grace Kelly visited in the 1960s, Mykonos also became a favored holiday spot for the rich and famous.
  • Overlooking the crystalline blue waters of the Aegean Sea, Aeonic Suites & Spa enjoys a tranquil waterfront location on the western end of Korfos Beach. Here, away from the bustling beach clubs and raunchy party scenes of Mykonos, you'll discover a quieter and more authentic side of the famous Greek island. The location of the property is very convenient as it is within walking distance of the beautiful beach and lively tavernas of Ornos, and it's only a 10 min drive to Mykonos town (15 euros by taxi). The airport and port are both a 15 min drive away and the hotel provides complimentary transfer upon arrival and departure.
  • Aeonic Suites & Spa is a creation of the Greek interior design studio Stones and Walls whose founding philosophy is that "design influences people's cultures and has a positive impact on their lives," which is exactly what the hotel aims to do. The studio describes the theme of the hotel as clean, modern spaces with softer wabi-sabi moments. Capturing the essence of Mykonos, the hotel's timeless and neutral interior features a sober and understated color palette with some dark wooden accents. The hotel's light-flooded and organic-shaped spaces are filled with a sense of calmness and expanse, guaranteeing a relaxing yet interesting and exciting stay.
  • Aeonic Suites & Spa's main building consists of delightful common spaces, including a welcome area, reception, lounge, boutique and bar as well as the majority of the rooms. The core element of the hotel's architecture is the dramatic atrium at the center of the building, which creates an atmospheric game of light and shadow. Skylight beaming through pebble holes in the atrium's ceiling ends up reflecting on a water surface on the ground floor and leaves its imprint on the lobby walls. The atrium also houses the wellness center on its top floor and is connected to the main restaurant & pool area by a small bridge (more on that below).
  • Aeonic Suites & Spa features 34 spacious rooms, which come in 10 categories. Each room enjoys its own outdoor space either with either a private pool or a Jacuzzi depending on the floor level. During my stay, I was upgraded to an Eternal Suite with Supreme Pool which was located in the main building. The suite featured an open-plan bedroom with king size bed, sitting area, gorgeous bathtub, luxurious bathroom with walk-in shower, and a private terrace with pool and lovely sea views. Natural materials like marble & wood, eclectic pieces of dark wood furniture & art, and a palette of muted greys and beiges, created a luxurious feel throughout.
  • Next to the main building and reached via a picturesque bridge is another pavilion which houses the hotel's dining area, called Cove Restaurant & Bar. With a spacious veranda and large sliding windows overlooking the Aegean Sea, Cove Restaurant sets the scene for guests to embark on a journey of taste. Each morning, a beautifully presented breakfast spread (7:30 am to 11 am) offers fresh fruits, pastries, cereals, Greek delicacies and more, while guests can also choose eggs, pancakes and waffles from a menu. At night, Cove Restaurant transforms into a sophisticated fine dining venue, offering one of Mykonos' best culinary experiences.
  • In front of Cove Restaurant is the hotel's beautiful infinity pool which is never busy since most guests prefer to lounge by their own pool or to spend the day at one of Mykonos' famous beach clubs. Filled with salt water, the large pool is surrounded by dozens of comfortable sun beds and umbrellas. Pool service is available, with snacks, refreshing cocktails and light bites served throughout the day. The pool decks offers great views of the bay and beach of Korfos, as well as spectacle of kite surfers having fun in the waters of Korfos Bay. The pool area is somewhat sheltered from the strong winds that often bather this part of the island (more on that below).
  • The hotel's top floor houses an intimate wellness center, offering a variety of treatments including full body massages, manicure, pedicure and hair services. The spa's decor moves away from the communal areas' understated elegance through a different palette of wood-like views, blending in with the natural scenery. There are 3 treatment rooms (2 couples suites & 1 single room), with one room featuring its own private wet area with Jacuzzi and sauna. The spa is also home to a small but well equipped gym.
  • Aeonic Suites & Spa is located next to Mykonos' Korfos Beach, which is a pole of attraction for wind- and kite surfers due to the strong winds that blow over the bay. When the sea is calm, the crystalline green waters and beautiful views towards Mykonons Town create an idyllic setting. Korfos is not the best beach though for swimming and relaxing (there are no loungers on the beach), but that shouldn't be a problem as there is a gorgeous beach just a 10 min walk from the hotel: Ornos. Known as a family-friendly beach and offering calm waters, Ornos is also one of Mykonos' trendiest, most popular and crowded beaches.
