Distribution: Native from Europe to West Siberia and Iran, Morocco according to the Plants of the World Online portal, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Habitat:  Found in mountain grassland, edges and clearings of forests.

Flowering period:  Summer (JUN, JUL, AUG).
