Hi everybody! 🙂

Here is my five video suggestions for this week.

Social Issues

First is episode 14 in the excellent Black American History series on Crash Course's channel with Clint Smith. In this episode Clint talks about Maria Stewart, David Walker, William Lloyd Garrison and how black women faced and still do face adversity for having their opinions. Clint also talks about how his daughter who is two is very opinionated and how he and his wife encourage her to be. That was really lovely to hear. It's so very beautiful that they encourage and support that about her. An excellent episode as per usual in this amazing series.

Secondly we have a brilliant documentary from Timeline about Rosa Parks entitled Rosa Parks: A Global Icon Who Stood Up To Tyranny. Such a wonderful woman and a really interesting documentary. There is a lot in the documentary about the civil rights movement at the time too and what black people faced in this period.

Next up from KD Hall Foundation we have a short documentary called Untold Stories of Black Women in the suffrage movement. The documentary is really interesting. We get to hear about Ida B. Wells, Anna Julia Cooper, The National Association of Colored Women, Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton.

Music

Next we have Rumors by Lizzo featuring Cardi B. I love this track and music video. The song is so catchy and filled with lyrics of standing up for yourself and loving yourself. The music video is so creative. Love this. Go ladies! 🙂

Finally we have Give Me Your Love by Sigala featuring John Newman and Nile Rodgers. Very, very catchy. A real bop. The music video is great too. The dancing is superb.
