What does it mean to be thoughtful? It means to put others ahead of yourself, and to keep an eye out for ways you can help make the lives of others a bit easier and a bit more pleasant.
Being thoughtful means that you don't arrive empty-handed and instead always bring something to the table. It means that you develop the habit of noticing if others are being inconvenienced. It means to do this for everyone around you, not just the people you personally know and care about.
What does thoughtfulness look like in your family? It means opening and closing doors quietly, especially when others are resting or sleeping. It means helping clean the house, so others don't have to do it all themselves. It means that you don't take more than your share of food, giving up your seat for others, and apologizing and forgiving others.
"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you." Ephesians 4:32 (NKJV)
Home is the best place to teach and practice thoughtfulness.
