It's mid-July, which means that it's getting on to jellyfish season! My husband tells me that when the Northumberland Strait warms up this time of year, the water is full of jellyfish just hanging out doing their thing. I saw my second jellyfish this week at low tide (The first was one my husband lifted out of the water with his hand - the stingers don't affect the palms of human hands as they are more callused than the rest of the skin).

Found this jelly friend on the beach - such a lovely purple colour! I returned it to the water, hopefully it swam away alright.

Although it hasn't been as warm here as some places in Canada, it's still been pretty hot! Wading and swimming have helped, but some days I just want to sit in front of a fan. Usually it's cooler down by the shore, and there're always neat rocks to look at and the waves to listen to.

The biggest periwinkle I've seen alive so far!

Only one thing could possibly mar this beautiful shore-scape. That's right; bring the golf ball counter up to 12.

I've decided to give all of the golf balls that I find to my mom, who enjoys the game. At least they'll be reused before the golf course or driving range properly disposes of them!

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention is that I've been taking some pictures with a waterproof disposable camera! My husband gave it to me last year, and I've been enjoying taking it out when we swim. I'll post pictures here if they turn out!

That's all for this week! We'll see if more jellyfish appear in next week's post!
