Lifeform: Perrenial; Nanophanerophyte according to the Raunkiær system. Distribution: Native to Greenland, Temperate Eurasia, West Canada to Northwest and West Central U.S.A. according to the Plants of the World Online portal. Habitat:  In the Osogovo region it is found in the subalpine belt - in heaths and in subalpine beech forests, at c. 1600 m altitude and above. Flowering period: Spring.
