Wales is rather hyprocritical here - ever since the Victorians popularised vacations, Wales has always been full to the brim with English, Dutch and German tourists - camping, touring and funding many a village well beyond the heady days of cutting slate.

What the Welsh Government needs to do is get the country mining again instead of worrying about too many tourists. Thats a lot of money and investment to stick ones nose up at.

The slate areas have always been super busy - so it is disappointing to see the negatives. Really they would have got the award a lot earlier instead of under-investing for so long.
