Highly misleading report - why because to build a house like this is far too expensive and the wood burning stove is not carbon free...... Plus it is not insulated to Finnish Standards with a vacuum test to ensure no draughts will pass through basic windows.
Flooding is not all due to climate change - it is due to lack of maintenance of rivers - lack of dredging and idiotic developers insisting that new housing is built on flood plains. It is also due to not ensuring suburb rivers are un blocked and culverts are repaired to almost new. Plus not enough lakes and ponds are in active use.
People are building homes on sludge and not robust rock and clay. Very poor foundations are easy to see . Geotechnical and Civil Engineers really need to pull their socks up. Hence why when sudden storms appear, huge holes appear within minutes.
They are also wasting a great deal of money on solar panels which are not purely off-grid.

Also the wrong trees are being planted - so soils are unstable and water resources are affected detrimentally.
