New post on The Thoughts and Opinions of Lady Bookamore
Mysterious deaths suddenly arise at different parts of the country which raises a major concern after the death of a police constable, resulting in agents from National Center of Security of India (NCS) to investigate. The only clue linking the deaths were the time, sequence of events and postmortem reports of the deceased. An ominous plot begins with a perplexed agent of 'NCS' trying to investigate if the deaths were natural or an Act of God as many sources claim these dreadful events to be signs of the return of Lucifer/ Dajjal and the world was about to meet its Judgement Day or Qiyammah. This book transitions through different perspectives, opinions and incidents linking theology, paranormal incidents, science and astronomy which the agents encounter trying to link the deaths to an unknown assassin.
The story is a mรฉlange of mystery in a heart throbbing series of twists and reveals leaving the readers on a continuous journey of thrilling suspense. This is the first book of the series 'A Dire Enigma', at the end of which our readers will realize the genuine reason behind these clandestine deaths, the threat awaiting and the true evil mastermind behind the screen. Why don't you grab the book and join us in the journey?

Firstly, I would like to thank the author for giving me an opportunity to review such a engaging work of fiction.
The title of the book is what intrigued me first. The Dire Enigma. A mystery associated with something serious or urgent. Like the death of a person. Although the causality of it is pretty much known to human civilization by now, the question of "what happens after death?" remains unanswered. Keep this in mind, the plot of The Dire Enigma is established. The second reason why I loved the reading this book is how the author introduced this very concept in the guise of a crime thriller. The story begins with the investigation of three murders in three different cities, with no thread of commonality to connect them to a single culprit. From here the protagonist, Adrian, delves deep into the philosophical question of the aftermath of death for human beings. However, what I considered as the most creative aspect of The Dire Enigma was how well the author connected all the dots to lead the storyline to end at a possible yet unanticipated denouement. The innovative method of storytelling is simply commendable, to say the least.
But, the only downward aspect of The Dire Enigma was how the story progressed in the mid-section of the novella. Although the sleekness of the plot is indeed impressive, the execution was not upto the mark. To be precise, some details and events were elaborated to the extent that the narrative seemed to become tedious at many points of the novel. Besides the lack of editing, I think The Dire Enigma could have been a better novel to read if this glitch was taken care of. I convey my best wishes to the author for his future endeavours. I will be looking forward to the next book in this series!
