Eve Stratford

Eve worked as a bunny girl at the Playboy Club in London's Park Lane on March 18, 1975, when she was brutally raped and murdered.

Her boyfriend, Tony Priest, lead singer of the pop band Onyx, found Eve's body. Eve's throat had been slashed between 8 - 12 times.

Police believe the 22-year-old model knew her attacker and invited him into the flat she shared with her boyfriend.

Six months later on September 3, 16-year-old Lynne Weedon was brutally attacked and raped in Hounslow. She was found barely alive at an electricity substation the following day and died in a hospital a short time later.

The murders of Eve and Lynne were linked in 2007 after matching DNA was discovered on both victims. Neither woman knew the other. Police suspect a third victim linked to this rapist-murderer.

Mark Tildesley

Beginnings

Mark Tildesley was a boy born in Berkshire in 1976. He was born into a loving family to parents John and Livinia Tildesley. He had a brother, Christopher, and a sister, Christina. By the time of Mark's disappearance and murder, his sister had moved away from home to live with her husband and she had a daughter. His brother Chris however, still lived with the family. At the time of his murder, he was attending the local primary school where he was in his third year.

By June 1st, 1984, schools had broken up for their half-term holiday. There was a local funfair, The Frank Ayers Fun Fair which would come to the town of Wokingham where Mark lived a few times a year, it had come during this holiday period.

After he had his dinner, he left his home and went on his bike to the funfair. After leaving home on his way to the fair he ran into one of his friends, Charlie O'Malley, and his brother. He asked them if they planned to the fair, they said they would do it later as they planned to go home beforehand. This was the last time Mark was seen by someone known to him.

Some time after reaching the fair Mark disappeared. The only trace of him was his bike which was found chained to a post near the site of the fair. Before he left, Mark told his parents that he would be home by 7:30 pm, assuring them that he wouldn't be late. By 8 pm he had still not returned and his parents decided to take matters into their own hands and look.

They drove to the fair and spent around an hour searching for him. Despite their efforts, however, they found no trace of him aside from his bike which as stated, was close by. At 10 pm, Mark's mother Livinia decided to call the police and inform them of his disappearance.

There was a massive search that followed in the days after. As a result of the search, every person who worked at the fair as well as every stallholder was questioned in relation to Mark's disappearance. Many people, including shop owners throughout the town of Wokingham, were questioned also.

On the 7th of June, 6 days after his disappearance, a new TV show, Crimewatch aired for the first time and they covered Mark's case with the hope of generating information, leads, and hopefully, the case being solved. The result of this was a massive 400 calls being sent to police in relation to Mark.

In August 1984, the police were alerted to a man named Sidney Cooke who was a fairground worker who had a history of questionable behavior toward young boys. When questioned by the police, however, he provided an alibi which was later confirmed by his employers.

At the end of May 1985, the Frank Ayers Fun Fair returned to Wokingham and the police decided to make a reconstruction of Mark's last known moments which would later again air on Crimewatch. As a result of this reconstruction, police were inundated with around 1000 phone calls. However, they did not lead to the discovery of Mark's body, who was now presumed dead.

Jason Swift and the Dirty Dozen

In November 1985, the dirty dozen pedophile gang led by Sidney Cooke abducted Jason Swift and took him back to an apartment in Hackney London. He was drugged, raped, and eventually killed by the members of the gang. Despite an attempt to dispose of his body, he was found in a shallow grave which eventually led to the arrests of, Sidney Cooke, Leslie Bailey, Robert Oliver and Steven Barrell.

After he was incarcerated, Bailey confessed that he as well as others had kidnapped and murdered Mark on the night of his disappearance. In his confession, Bailey stated that was asked by his partner and member of the gang, Lennie Smith, to drive from Hackney to Wokingham, where there would be a party involving the sexual abuse of a child in a caravan owned by Cooke located near the Frank Ayers Fun Fair.

After they had arrived in Wokingham, Smith went into the fair to find Cooke and returned to Bailey's car in Langborough Road, near to the fairground, with Mark. Mark had to be forced into the car. Bailey drove with Smith in the front passenger seat, whilst Cooke was holding Mark in the back of the car. They drove to the caravan owned by Cooke.

When arriving, Cooke gave Mark a glass of milk that he had mixed with a muscle relaxant however, Mark couldn't finish it as he complained it tasted weird. After this, the members of the gang proceeded to rape and torture him. Cooke then forced Mark to take more of the muscle relaxant and Smith would later grab him by the throat. After about half an hour, Bailey was sure that Mark was dead as he said he couldn't feel a pulse. Cooke however told him that Mark was fine and that he would take him home.

Bailey was later charged, tried, and convicted of the manslaughter of Mark Tildesley in 1992. Despite his confession and the proof her gave against the others, Cooke nor Lennie Smith stood trial with him. Leslie Bailey was given two life sentences for the manslaughter of Mark. Livinia, Mark's mother was disgusted by the verdict saying that Bailey "should be hanged". In 1993, Bailey was murdered by two prison inmates.

Mark's father John, died in 2005 never finding out what happened to his son. The following year, his suspected murderer, Lennie Smith died in prison. Mark's mother Livinia, also died in 2011, again not find out out what happened to him.

In 2015, Former Chief Superintendent Roger Stoodley stated that he was concerned that there may have been a cover-up in relation to Mark's murder by the police. He also stated that there was definitely enough evidence to prosecute Sidney Cooke for the murder.

Mark's brother Christopher, sent a letter to Sidney Cooke in 2019 in which he pleaded with him to reveal where he had buried Mark's body. In 2016, Christopher suffered a stroke which meant that as a result, he was no longer able to talk or walk. His wife explained how heartbreaking Mark's case has been for him and the rest of the family.

Sidney Cooke is still alive and is being held at Wakefield prison. He is 94 and while he did confess to a cellmate that he knew where Mark's body was buried, he has never revealed so despite pleas. It's unlikely he will ever be found.

Ann Heron

On the morning of 3 August 1990, Heron went shopping in Darlington with a friend. Later that afternoon, Heron was sunbathing in her garden. When Peter Heron arrived home from work at 18:00pm, her radio was found still on, along with her book and cigarettes. The family dog was also outside, and the house front door was open. Heron's body was found in the living room of the house. Heron was lying on the floor in a pool of blood and had a stab wound in her neck

After a short investigation, police charged Peter with Ann's murder. However, without sufficient evidence, the case against him eventually dissolved and charges were dismissed.

Some people speculate that convicted serial killer Christopher Halliwell is responsible for her murder.

Maria Requena

Maria Requena, a 25-year-old sex worker, went missing from Leigh, Greater Manchester, on New Year's Day 1991. Her remains were found on January 6, 1991, chopped up and placed in five plastic bins, in the lake at Pennington Flash.

Marvin Hogan

On June 4, 2012, a group of Leyton men attempted to take 28-year-old Marvin Hogan's keys away. Hogan attempted to stop one of the men from the group from taking the keys, resulting in the man stabbing him through his heart.

A driver who witnessed the attack stayed with Marvin until police arrived. Paramedics rushed him to Royal London Hospital but he died early on June 5, 2012.

No one has ever been charged in the stabbing attack that ended Hogan's life.

Ismail Tankrikulu agreed to meet Musa Duru at Tottenham Cemetery in Tottenham, London, on September 3, 2018, to settle a dispute. The two instead argued over cannabis Duru presumed Tanrikulu had stolen from him. "You think it's me," Tanrukulu shouts seconds before a bullet passes through his arm and into his abdomen, causing fatal injuries.

Duru was initially charged with the murder but acquitted of the charges. The man's cousin, who is suspected of participating in the shooting and cannot be named for legal reasons, fled to Turkey shortly after the murder.
