While checking out the milkweed for monarch caterpillars (still none to be seen) I noticed this little grasshopper sitting on a nodding bloom of Fringed Yellow Loosestrife-Lysimachia ciliata.

The Two-striped Grasshopper nymph-Melanoplus bivittatus did not weigh much and the flower Hangs downward naturally.

Two days later I was wandering in MacLeod Field ( home of the Grass Pinks and Rose Pogonias) and came across another.  This one was slightly more mature and had these cute little later instar wings.

"Will you walk with me, Grasshopper?"
