Howdy Peaches!

Hope y'all are doin' great! Sorry for postin' a day late again, I went to visit my mama yesterday and lost track of time! I wanted to talk to y'all about the new COVID-19 vaccine passports that are bein' used for travel.

Some of the positives of vaccine passports..

So y'all might be wonderin' what a vaccine passport is.. If you haven't heard about it, a vaccine passport is a documentation that shows if someone has been vaccinated or recently tested negative for COVID-19. The idea behind this is to have an app that has your vaccine and past COVID testing results information in one place that can be checked mainly for international travel. International air travel has almost completely collapsed since the beginning of the pandemic, so these vaccine passports are an effort by international travel companies to convince the governments to drop some of the travel restrictions that have been set so that people can begin travelin' again.

This idea of the vaccine passport is also potentially good for use at concerts or train stations too so that all the restrictions can be lightened up a bit. This could even just be a QR code that gets scanned sayin' whether your vaccinated or not. Another plus side to this, mainly on the business side, is that with proof of vaccination with these vaccine passports could mean no more mandated quarantine when arrivin' at your destination. It could also prevent the use of thousands of tests bein' used when people arrive, as those who are vaccinated don't have a need to be tested.

They've got some negatives too..

Although this idea is pretty great, there are few downsides and risks to it as well. First of all, scientists still aren't sure whether vaccinated people can still carry and spread COVID. This means that if anyone in the airport etc. that is vaccinated and is potentially carryin' it, they could spread it to unvaccinated people when they arrive at their destination or on the plane if someone isn't vaccinated there. Another potential risk to this is that fraudsters can easily fake things, especially nowadays, so they could fake their vaccination records online and bypass this vaccine passport. Developers of digital passport apps say that the new digital versions have safeguards and all, but you never know with how people are..

Another downside to this is that there are gonna be multiple different systems tryin' to get people to use their vaccine passport app meanin' that all these different systems across the world will have to coordinate and work together with other countries to help recognize each others' certificates and proofs of vaccination, which may prove to be difficult. Many countries don't accept digital documentation because it can very easily be faked, so officials are be workin' on solutions to this problem such as paper-based options to be required, which may not be as convenient, but if people want to travel they will deal with it.

Let me know what y'all think about this idea of vaccine passports! I think it's an interestin' idea but will definitely take a lot of work to get figured out and start using..

Have an amazin' weekend y'all!
