Distribution: Native to South Europe (Italy, including Sardinia and Sicily to Balkan Peninsula) according to the distribution information provided by The Euro+Med PlantBase (source: ILDIS World Database of Legumes 2010).

Habitat:  A calcicole species found in open habitats- in calcareous grassland and on limestone rocks.

Flowering period:  Spring (APR, MAY, JUN).
