David Louis Vinton B. Oroville, Butte County, California, October 27, 1867, died December 3, 1944, Oroville, Cherokee Village Butte, California Mother , Annie Williams and father Thomas Louis Vinton, father born Wales, mother born ,Pennsylvania. David's father was a gold miner, skills he brought from the mines of Wales, he was also a merchant and may have opened the store that David took over after his death. David's father Thomas was operating the store as early as 1870. David never married, he was a merchant in Oroville for many years and after his parents died he took care of his unmarried sisters and brother, Margaret, Ruth and Marcus W. Vinton.
Cherokee Native Dies
Miss Maggie Vintin 63, native and lifelong resident of Cherokee, died at a local hospital last night. She had been an invalid for more that twenty years.
