Although there is nowadays a lot of pressure on the fashion industry to stop picturing curvy girls as unhealthy, there is still a long way to go. Indeed, this systematic portrayal of tiny figures as the most attractive has led many children over the years to develop a faulty perception about how desirable fat tissue actually is. This perception has triggered some children, teens and young adults to develop an altered perception of their bodies or made them form unhealthy relationships with food. And even though being overweight, or obese, should be avoided to reduce health-related issues, we should still abstain from perceiving any fat as an enemy. A certain level of fat is required for our bodies to support us. Also, the type of fat cells contained in our fat tissue determines how healthy we are. White fat cells that adults tend to develop in excess are much more detrimental than beige or brown fat cells. Fortunately, there are strategies you can adopt to help morph those undesirable white fat cells into beneficial beige and brown cells.
