I'm on a roll here. Sunday afternoon I walked the rail trail hoping to photograph turtles. I just saw a couple but they were swimming at a distance so just happy to see them. But, as shown the last few days, there is much else to photograph and this Great Blue Heron was a treat. Although he did naught but stand looking around or preening, I enjoyed spending a half hour watching and photographing.

I don't often shoot in the afternoon but that's when you are most likely to see turtles sunning after the morning coolness has passed. So I caught this guy in some nice light just before the sun disappeared behind the trees in back of me. I started to our left here and worked my way to the right until I found a composition with a clear reflection. Lots of stuff in the swamp and for a change the water is high.
It was a successful walk in other ways and I managed a shot for Friday and for Mother's Day too.
